| CLAUDETTE PRIDEMORE I grew up in East Tennessee with the mountains As my playground. Most of my watercolors, oils And acrylics reflect my love of nature. My interests Vary with my mood and materials. Teaching was my vocation but Art captured my soul. Tile and glass mosaics were a means of making my Classroom more interesting to my students. I like To think that along with history, Math and Science The students expressed themselves through Art. FRANCES FOX I am a native of Gatlinburg and a fifth generation artist weaver. Both my grandmothers were weavers but the skill skipped a Generation. When I inherited my grandmother’s loom I took classes at Arrowmont to learn to weave. My handwoven wall hangings celebrate nature and the Mountains. I weave a line of clothing, jackets, vests and wraps in luxury yarns. As Asst. Designer Weaver for Arrowcraft Shop in the 1980’s I began to research the history of weaving and crafts in the area and now I am a Historian for the Arts and Crafts community and a tour guide, storyteller and speaker. LISA WALK Wild Child Clayworks was born here in Gatlinburg on the edge of the Great Smoky mountains. My roots also extend to the banks of the Tennessee River in North Alabama and encompass many beautiful places I've seen in my travels all over the world. I love the wildness in all the landscapes I've taken in but none feels as special to me as those in my own East Tennessee Backyard. THE GALLERY The exciting thing about having a Gallery is having a place to show our work, whether we’re making jewelry, painting gourds, doing mosaics or our primary skill. Also we are able to display the work of other local artists that we think are wonderful. We have space to have workshops in painting, mosaics, clay etc., so there is always something happening here. |
